Reaching The Last Mile

Designing customer-facing website that:
• Emphasizes a commitment to ending preventable diseases
• A hub for accomplishments and efforts in global health
• Encourages partners to collaborate with the organization
• Provides the tools and content necessary to run the awards ceremony
• Promotes their core events and an international forum

UX workshop with stakeholders

• Business requirements definition
• Customer goals and emotions, tone of voice
• Customer group definition/Define the user journey for specific user groups (audience): award nominators, forum and Health Week participants
• Information architecture: summarized/reviewed the list of key pages, created high-level specifications for every key page

The website map was created considering the following criteria and findings from the workshop.
• The website informs potential new partners about the work and commitment to ending preventable diseases.
• The overall information on the approach and goals of details on each program: Forum & Health Week, Awards, and Other initiatives.
• Highlight existing partners at the program level or in summary.
• The general public should be able to learn about programming and be encouraged to engage with social media channels.
• The internal audience wants to see that the programs get attention and press coverage.
• There is a specific group of users visiting the website to nominate someone for the awards
• The website provides info about the: forum: speakers, logistics, registration, etc.
• Provide information on the events occurring during the Health Week open to the general public

• Central place of information to showcase the breadth and commitment of the organization's work and understand the events and opportunities in which to participate.

What do we want users to feel when interacting with the website?
• Feel inspired and connected
• A shared sense of purpose. Proud to be involved with the work. Acknowledgment of their contribution
• Stay informed. That information is available and at their fingertips

Awards ceremony

Articulating awards:
• Highlights three tiers of awards categories
• Emphasises previous winners of a higher-profile, second-tier award
• Outlines awards criteria, the nomination process, timelines, etc.
• Explains the legal criteria for the awards
• Introduces the jury, profiles

Newsroom

• A suppository of easy-to-access, accurate, and up-to-date information that pulls through the organization's messages, translates and includes them in the coverage
• Call-to-action, feel empowered to reach out to the press for more information
• Visibility, showing that the organization's programs are getting attention and press coverage
• Engagement: the general public is encouraged to engage with social media channels and learn about the organization's programs
